Holzkistenhaus is a family business with its own production. The whole family is involved: from selecting the wood and manufacturing to packing. Since 2016, we have been supplying our wooden crates for home, garden and business. You can find us exclusively at holzkistenhaus.de.

From an idea to crates in homes all across Europe
Our adventure with Holzkisten began in 2016. At first, there were only a few models and lots of testing – finding out what works and what needed improving. It quickly became clear that a simple, sturdy wooden crate made from natural wood was exactly what many people were looking for.
Over time, our crates have reached customers in more and more European countries. We’ve learned how to pack them securely for long journeys and process orders smoothly – whether someone orders a single crate or several dozen.
We have proudly offered our wooden crates for years in our own online shop, where we present the full range and pay attention to every detail.

The start of the adventure
It all started with a simple idea: a wooden crate can be more than just packaging. We made our first crates in small batches and tested what’s truly useful at home – for books, shoes, toys or plants.

We learn from every order
We tested sizes, board thicknesses and joints. That’s when we fell in love with the burnt-effect finish – a warm, darker wood tone that’s still one of our trademarks today.

We started selling our crates abroad – including in the UK, France and Italy. Each market has taught us something: how to pack so the crate arrives safely, which sizes are most popular, and how to answer customer questions quickly.

New models and finishes
To the simple crates, we added models with shelves, on feet, with lids, wine crates, shoe and book shelves, as well as coloured crates. Every new model is a response to our customers’ questions and ideas.

Where do you ship orders from?
All parcels are dispatched from our warehouse. Delivery is via DHL or UPS within 2–3 working days.
Who runs the shop?
The online shop is run by a family business. You can find the full provider details in the legal notice (Impressum).
Can I order a larger quantity of crates?
Yes. For larger orders, the bulk discount is automatically deducted in the basket; for big quantities for businesses, just get in touch – we’ll prepare a quote.
What if I don’t like the crate?
You have 30 days to return them without giving a reason. We usually refund the money within 1–2 working days after receiving the parcel.
